Dear Extreme Friends & Family,
I wanted to share something personal with all of you. Recently, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Those words are scary, and this journey is one I never expected to take. But as frightening as this diagnosis can feel, I know one thing for sure: I am not facing it alone.
Extreme has been such a huge part of my family’s life and truly feels like home. My daughter, Lucy, started here when she was just 18 months old in Tiny Tumblers, and now she is beginning her fourth season in our All Star Cheer Program. Watching her grow up here has been such a special gift. My husband, J.T., has been coaching here for almost six years, and throughout all of those years, this gym has given our family so much more than a place to work, practice, and cheer.
It has given us a family.
This is where we have met some of our very best friends. It’s where we’ve celebrated victories, supported each other through challenges, watched our children grow, and made memories that will last a lifetime. The relationships and love we have found within these walls mean more to me than I could ever put into words.
As we head into Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the gym begins selling shirts in support of breast cancer awareness, I want everyone to know how incredibly meaningful that support is to family and loved ones affected by breast cancer. Every shirt, every encouraging word, every hug, and every prayer is a reminder of what an amazing community we have around us.
While this diagnosis is scary, we are strong. And I truly believe that when we come together, we are even stronger. This will be a fight, but I am ready to fight, and I know I have an incredible army of family and friends behind me. We are going to take this journey one day at a time, stay hopeful, stay strong, and fight together to beat breast cancer.
Thank you for being more than just a gym to us. Thank you for being our home, our family, and such an important part of our lives. I am so grateful for every single person who has loved and supported our family through the years, and I know that love will help carry me through the road ahead.
Together, we are stronger. Together, we fight. Together, we will beat this.
